After 5 months living in Galway (Gaillimh in Irish), a city in the West of Ireland, my twin and I had the chance to discover a lot of this wonderful country.
I really loved Ireland a lot, and that's mainly the reason why I created this blog. I want to share this experience with you and to show you what a beautiful country is Ireland and by extension, this is the opportunity for me to speak about my previous trips and, I hope, all my future ones.
This city of Galway is incredible. The main street is full of restaurants, pubs, nice people and musicians playing guitar, piano or harp in the street. Somedays, you can even see some guys exposing stuffs such as paintings, drawings, ballons shaped as dogs or girafes, necklaces or bracelets they did themselves with leather straps and feathers... It was really nice and during the day it's like the entire street is a little market, arranged in way that could only entretain you.
Speaking of this guy with the feathers and the bracelets, he always had a black dog with him that looks like a wolf. He was exposing his stuffs in front of the King's head (one of the principal and most famous pubs in Galway where there are a live concert almost every day), which is really important for you to know to follow the rest of my story:
One day, my twin our roomate and friends of ours decided to do a "12 pubs" which consisted in going in pubs, drink 1pint in 30minutes and continue the "barathon" followinf this same pace until we went in 12 differents pubs (of course, it was really difficult this finish it).
So, in our route the King's Head was maybe the fifth pub we had to go.
This day, in front of the King's head, ready to start on with our fifth pint, (you can imagine that at this point we all were a little tipsy...), my twin and I couldn't help ourselves and when we saw the black dog lying next to the stand, without any lead (yes, he is really really nice and quiet so, he doesn't need any lead), and my twin, a friend and I just went in direction of the dog and one thing leading to another, we started to speak with the guy while playing with dog and we stayed here during more than 30 minutes... and finally, disturbed the entire game. But, it worth it.

Anyway, after this main street you can find Spanish Arch -which was originally an extension of the city wall to protect the city's quays, near to the River Corrib. This place is really nice many people are gathering here.
I remember one night, after having taken some pints at the pub, we came here and we found two guys playing drums, just like that in the middle of the place. Few people were here to listen to them but one thing leading another we all started to dance on their music and at the end we were maybe 20 people enjoying their music.
Galway lies on the River Corrib and this place is really nice both day and night. A lot of people like to gather here to drink some beers and to meet some friends, playing guitar or just to take a walk along the river.
Actually, I think this is the only place where you are allowed to drink your own drinks in public. So, when it's sunny and that you have nothing to do except to drink a Guiness at the water's edge with friends and playing cards, listening to people playing guitar a few meters from you, just go here and enjoy this wonderful day.
Thank you for reading! :)
