Once we had visited the north of Scotland (Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park) with my parents and my twin, I also wanted to show them the city I am living in.
So, during Thursday afternoon (29.10.15) we went to visit the Necropolis (that I already saw 2weeks before, but I liked this place so much that it wasn't not a problem at all for me to visit it a 2nd time. Actually, I was quiet eager and impatient to return here).
The Necropolis
The Glasgow Necropolis is called "the city of the dead". And, to be honest this is why I liked this place so much. I know, this is creepy. But, this place is really, really beautiful. It's huge and quiet impressive and about 50,000 persons were buried here. All the graves are against each other; some are broken, others doesn't have any names on it and you can only see a stone on the ground. I liked this "misterious side". Also, some doesn't even have a grave. It was really... disorienting.
It's really complicated to explain but when you enter here, it's not creepy but it's stunning. Also, we went there at the end of October so all the leaves of the trees are yellowed, sometimes red and there are a lot on the ground too. This is huge and quiet, there is no sound but the wind... This added even more a touch of "creepy beauty' to this place. Anyway, it's one of my favorite place for now. I could hang around here everyday I wouldn't mind.

Once you arrive at the top of the Necropolis you have a huge, stunning, amazing view on all the city and especially on the Cathedral. We just sat here to observe and enjoy the view. Glasgow seemed to be really quiet from here. It's was really pleasant and relaxing.

The Cathedral
This place is at the top of the Necropolis. After that, you go down to finally arrived on a little bridge/passage that brings you behind the Cathedral. I went on the place to take some pictures but we couldn't enter the Cathedral this day.

Tennent Caledonian Breweries
Once we had seen everything in this area, we still had time (it was around 4:30pm) so we just went up the street of the Necropolis, passed the Drygate (it's a bar/restaurant) and turned on the left to go at the Tennent Caledonian Breweries. It's maybe 5-10 minutes by walk from the Cathedral, so very close.
The Breweries are surrounded by walls with tags and drawings based on the Tennent brand that are rally really nice.

Once there, we decided to visist the Breweries. Actually, it's not really expensive: 7,50£/adult and 5£/student. The visit lasts 90minutes. We begin to watch a short film telling the history of the Tennent brand. It was really interesting but there was nothing planned for the persons that didn't speak English and therefore they couldn't understand anything, which is a shame.
After, watching the video the guide gave each persons a yellow reflective vest, headphones and an audio player. It was really useful because once in the factory itself we couldn't hear the tour guide without it because of the machines working around us. But, once again, the ones that didn't understand English were completely lost and didn't even listen to the guide at the end of the visit.

Anyway. We saw were they prepared the seeds for the beer, how it is macerated and steeped, we saw the machinery control room, how they prepare the empty cans, where they stock the beer, how they wash the barrels and how they fill it in before selling it to the pubs and the bars, how they pack the beers...
It was really interesting but we couldn't take many pictures the most of the time.
After all these explanations, we went back in the bar of the breweries (where we watch the video at the very beginning). By the way, this place is really nice.

The guide offered to each one of us a Tennent beer. We had the choice between:
The Basic Tennent
The Stout version
The Italian version
The cider version (Magners- called Bulmers in Ireland).
Personally, I tried the Italian one because I alreday tasted the other ones before and it was really good!
After that, the guide served us 4 samples of Tennent special versions:
TheLemon Tennent, really good, sweet and not too strong in alcohol. Really tasty!
The "Best" Tennent, which is a stout beer, really good too.
The third one was a Whisky Tennent that I didn't really liked to be honest
And the last one was one very strong Tennent that is not commercialized anymore at 9° that was ok, but strangely strong for a beer.

Sooooo, at the end, I have to admit that we all were a little tipsy at the end.
The Drygate
We just went at the other side of the street to eat at the Drygate restaurant. It was really nice and atypical because they are proposing a lot of beers brewed by the drygate itself and each week different beers are offered so you can always discover something new.
